Fathers are Wonderful People, really

As Father's day is approaching, I though it would be nice to post something related to that.

My dad is quite similar to most Asian dads, he leaves all the talking and disciplining to my mum (so she gets the reputation of being the big bad wolf). He worked hard to provide for us when we were young and still works now to keep himself busy. I can't remember how we spent father's day when we were younger or the gifts we had given then. Most of the time it will be something like a shirt, wallet or belt etc.

Sometimes I wish, my dad could be more like those TV dads and I could reach out and give him a big hug and say I love you, but I think he would think I had gone crazy or something..

Well, enough about my dad. Here's a poem about dads. Maybe some of you could relate to this too, just like I can.

Fathers are Wonderful People

Fathers are wonderful people too little understood
And we do not sing their praises as often as we should...

And father works daily to live up to "His Image"
As protector and provider and "hero of the scrimmage"...

And perhaps that is the reason we sometimes get the notion
that fathers are not subject to things we call emotion

But if you look inside Dad's heart, where no one else can see,
You'll find he's sentimental and as soft as he can be...

But he's busy everyday in the daily race of life.
But Fathers are just wonderful in a million different ways,
And they deserve all the loving compliments and praises.

For the only reason Dad aspires to fortune and success,
Is to make the family proud of him and to bring them happiness...

A father, he's a guardian and a guide.
Someone that we can count on to be always on our side.
